Juvenile Information Sharing

National JIS Initiative

The purpose of the National JIS Initiative is to increase the capacity of youth-serving agencies to exchange pertinent information by improving procedures and policies for secure information sharing across state agencies, local agencies, youth and juvenile services within the community. In FY 2009, the Center for Network Development (CND) will pilot the JIS Guidelines in two sites, a local juvenile justice assessment center and a state level collaboration. CND will also assess potential future sites for demonstration and implementation of the National JIS Initiative model.
